Pumpkin Enzyme Mask — BiON Skincare

A lot of you know I absolutely love enzymes in the treatment room.

There’s just something about a good enzyme treatment that can completely transform the skin—especially when clients are dealing with dullness, rough texture, congestion, or visible aging.

I’ve been using BiON Skincare for several years now, and it’s truly become one of those lines I consistently trust in my treatment room.

I’ve seen incredible changes in my clients’ skin using BiON—from acne support to overall rejuvenation—but one product that has really stood out to me over the years for anti-aging treatments is the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask.

Though this mask can absolutely be used for multiple skin concerns and skin types, I personally love it for mature and dull skin.

✨ It helps brighten
✨ improve texture
✨ support healthy exfoliation
✨ smooth the skin
✨ and create that healthy post-facial glow clients love

One of my favorite case studies I ever did for the Skin Games incorporated this mask heavily into the treatment plan. Of course there were other modalities and treatments involved, but the Pumpkin Enzyme Mask played such a huge role in improving the overall texture and radiance of the skin throughout the series.

And honestly, one of the funniest memories I have with this product was when my husband became one of my case study clients 😂

Every single time I would pull this mask out he’d ask:

👉 “Is this the itchy mask?”

Because yes—you definitely feel this one working.

But that stimulation is also part of why this mask performs so beautifully when used appropriately.

🌿 About BiON Skincare

BiON is a family-owned professional skincare manufacturer focused on combining science-backed ingredients with skin health and barrier support. Their formulations are rooted in corrective skincare while still prioritizing overall skin function.

One thing I really appreciate about BiON is that their products feel very treatment-room focused.

The line is results-driven while still respecting the skin.

And I think that balance matters so much in esthetics right now.

Because many clients are walking into our treatment rooms with:
👉 compromised barriers
👉 chronic inflammation
👉 over-exfoliated skin
👉 dehydration
👉 sensitized acne

The skin doesn’t always need more intensity.

Sometimes it needs:
✔️ controlled stimulation
✔️ intentional correction
✔️ support alongside exfoliation

✨ Why I Chose This Product

When people hear “pumpkin enzyme,” they often immediately think:
✨ fall facial
✨ seasonal treatment
✨ basic exfoliation

But this mask is so much more than that.

The Pumpkin Enzyme Mask helps improve how the skin functions while still delivering visible results.

It’s one of those treatments that leaves the skin looking:
👉 brighter
👉 smoother
👉 healthier
👉 more refreshed

without automatically jumping into aggressive correction.

Another thing I really appreciate is the pH.

The Pumpkin Enzyme Mask sits around a pH of 5.0, which aligns closely with the skin’s natural pH range of about 4.5–5.5.

That’s important because supporting the skin’s natural barrier and acid mantle plays such a huge role in long-term skin health.

✨ What It Does (And Why It Matters)

This mask works on multiple levels:

✨ Gently exfoliates + removes buildup
✨ Helps improve skin texture
✨ Encourages healthy cell turnover
✨ Supports brighter, smoother-looking skin
✨ Helps soften the appearance of fine lines
✨ Supports healthy aging treatments

So instead of just aggressively exfoliating the skin, you’re:
👉 refining
👉 stimulating
👉 supporting
👉 improving overall skin function

💆 How I’d Use This in the Treatment Room

Let me walk you through how I personally love incorporating this into a treatment 👇

Best For:

✨ Mature skin
✨ Dull skin
✨ Rough texture
✨ Oily to normal skin
✨ Clients needing glow + rejuvenation

My Protocol Approach:

First Cleanse

I personally love starting with a cream cleanser first.

Second Cleanse

Then I’ll move into:
✨ a glycolic cleanser
or
✨ another active cleanser appropriate for the client

Tone

I also personally like toning the skin before exfoliation.

Optional Double Exfoliation

If appropriate and allowed within your state regulations, I may incorporate:
✨ a fruit enzyme scrub
✨ a gentle gommage

BiON’s fruit enzyme scrub works beautifully for this.

Pumpkin Enzyme Mask

Apply a generous layer and leave on:
👉 about 5–10 minutes depending on tolerance

I always educate clients beforehand that they’ll likely feel stimulation or tingling.

I usually tell them:
✨ a 2–3 out of 5 level of sensation is completely normal

This mask can absolutely be used:
✔️ with steam
✔️ or without steam

If someone is newer, reactive, or more sensitive, I typically skip the steam initially.

Extractions

Optional extractions depending on barrier health and congestion.

Post-Treatment Support

After extractions, I love using:
✨ a cooling
✨ calming
✨ antiseptic toner

Then I’ll typically follow with:
✔️ a rich hydrating mask
✔️ calming hydration
✔️ massage if appropriate

Finish

I usually avoid aggressive actives post-enzyme and focus more on hydration and barrier support instead.

Finish with:
✨ eye cream
✨ serum
✨ moisturizer
✨ SPF ☀️

⚠️ Treatment Room Notes

This mask is definitely active.

Clients may experience:
✔️ warmth
✔️ tingling
✔️ stimulation

The brand also notes it may be too active for extremely sensitive skin types.

On a scale of 1-5, one being water and 5 being the most sensation on the skin the client has ever felt I usually expect the client to report a 2-3.

And because this is an exfoliating treatment:
👉 SPF afterward is essential

💚 Why This Belongs in Your Treatment Room

This is one of those products that gives clients that immediate “my skin looks so good” feeling after treatment.

But beyond the glow, what I really appreciate is how beautifully it supports overall skin function while still delivering visible results.

BiON Skincare has remained one of those lines I consistently trust because their products balance correction with skin health—and I think this mask is such a beautiful example of that 💚
They also have so many great educational resources online—I highly recommend checking them out, setting up an account, and following along on social 💚
